Aikey, Michael.

Research files relating to early (17th, 18th and 19th century) New York State printers and publishers, including ephemera and printed material from the era. Indexes, notes, clippings, etc.

American Book Company.

The American Book Company was formed in 1890 by consolidation of Van Antwerp, Bragg and Co., A.S. Barnes and Co., D. Appleton and Co., and Iveson, Blakeman and Co. The collection includes the records of the company which manufactured books and educational materials in several locations in the United States, with head offices in New York City; the book list embraced all subjects at all educational levels. The collection is primarily textbooks, including several editions as far back as 1840 of the McGuffey readers; also included are business records and illustrations.

One commemorative menu, rest is business and personal correspondence, largely in connection with the Judge, a weekly magazine of wit and humor which began publication in 1881 in New York. Correspondents include August Belmont, James G. Blaine, George W. Childs, Charles A. Dana, Chauncey M. Depew, Joseph W. Drexel, Stephen B. Elkins, Joseph B. Foraker, George Jay Gould, David B. Hill, Collis P. Huntington, Robert Ingersoll, Levi P. Morton, John C. New, Bill Nye, William W. Phelps, Thomas B. Bannister, Henry S.

Papers of the American printer and antiquarian, founder of Albany, New York, firm which bore his name. Collection includes Munsell family genealogy, letter to William Leete Stone, letters about Munsell, invoices and receipts, photographic portraits, and biographer David S. Edelstein's research on the life and work of Joel Munsell.

A wide range of printed material, produced presumably as samples by the Central City Printing Company of Syracuse, New York.

Chicory Blue Press (Goshen, Conn.)

Founded by Sondra Zeidenstein, Chicory Blue Press of Goshen, Connecticut publishes poetry and short stories by women authors over the age of 60. Collection contains editorial files, correspondence, audio and video material; a number of published items were removed for separate cataloging.
